The tiny smart fortwo was designed with big city parking in mind. Because the fuel-saving coupes take up less space than most cars, New York City's Meyers Parking announced that it will offer fifty-percent discounts on daily and monthly posted rates to fortwo owners. The discounted rate is good news to the estimated 1700 fortwo owners in New York City, and it'll be available through December 31, 2008. It's easy to see why the discount makes sense; the fortwo is only 106 inches long. While this makes it comical when seen in contrast to a Ford Explorer, it also means that a savvy garage can almost put two smarts in the space that one normal car fills. Meyers has decided to pass the benefits of this clever packaging on to its smart-driving customers.
With over 5000 parking spots in NYC, Meyers owns the largest public parking garages in Times Square, as well as near tourist and entertainment attractions like Madison Square Garden and the Empire State Building.
