Mississippi-born William Jeanes has written about cars for more than three decades. He is a former editor of Car and Driver and was publisher of that magazine and Road & Track. He was the founding editor of the consumer magazine AMI Auto World Weekly. His work has been published in American Heritage, Air & Space Smithsonian, Playboy, the New York Times, Winding Road and On Wheels.
Valerie Menard, editor of Latinos On Wheels, was born in southern California and raised in Austin, Texas. A 2nd-generation Mexican American, she is a former senior editor for Hispanic magazine. Valerie also is the author of two published books, as well as a former board member of the Texas Auto Writers Association. She has English and journalism degrees from the University of Texas at Austin.
On Wheels president and CEO Randi Payton was an automotive columnist in Washington. Realizing that information on buying cars, and knowledge about the automotive industry, was not readily available to African-American consumers. The Vietnam War veteran decided to cater to that underserved market. Randi launched African Americans On Wheels magazine and this website in 1995.
