The Edward Davis Education Foundation (EDEF) was established in 1998 in honor of the only African American and the only auto dealer inducted into the Automotive Hall of Fame. Edward Davis was a pioneer among franchised automobile dealers, and was among the first African Americans to own and operate a dealership.
His legacy of vision, persistence and excellence is embraced in EDEF's objectives. EDEF's mission is to increase diversity within the automotive industry, increase seatbelt safety awareness among African Americans and Latinos and promote career opportunities for ethnic minorities through scholarship, internship and mentoring programs.
The Edward Davis Scholarship Fund seeks to provide scholarships, internships and mentoring for students interested in pursuing a career in an automotive-related profession. For many African Americans and Latinos, the availability of financial support is key to pursuing and completing college or earning a degree. EDEF has awarded more than $200,000 in scholarships since its inception in 1998.
Your tax-deductible contributions will ensure that Edward Davis' dreams of a diversified auto industry will one day become a reality.
This worthy cause needs your support. All donations are tax deductible and can be made via check, money order, and credit card. Please make checks payable to the Edward Davis Education Foundation. If making donation by credit card, please include type of card, cardholder's name, card number, and expiration date. EDEF also accepts Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.
