CHRYSLER REVIEWS |
| The often-beleaguered third component of Detroit’s “Big Three” is
notable for flashy styling, brilliant innovations and a Rasputin-like
ability to avoid going out of business. Chrysler might be seen as a
latecomer to the automotive party of the early 20th century, having
been organized from the ashes of the Maxwell-Chalmers company in
1925. Walter P. Chrysler was hired to retool Maxwell-Chalmers’ faltering business, and did so with the car that ultimately bore his
name. In the 1950s, Chrysler’s Imperial brand was a credible rival to
Cadillac and Lincoln for luxury-car dominance. Chrysler is known for
big, heavy sedans with magic-carpet rides. The vehicles have gotten
smaller in recent years, but the brand has weathered several changes
of ownership with its sense of style intact. |

It‘s hard not to be in a bad mood when driving one, because there‘s just something about the little retro-commuter that makes people smile. The PT may not be as universally adored as the Miata, but it‘s a great companion. |

2006 Chrysler Pacifica Review
|
| Chrysler | 9/6/2007 |
 |
Perhaps we‘re getting ahead of ourselves; it‘s spring, and the open road beckons. The Pacifica is intended to be a combination of car, SUV and minivan. Chrysler was one of the first folks to climb onto the "category-buster" bandwagon that eventually came to be known as the crossover market. The Pacifica is designed to be equally at home running suburban errands, cruising... |
