MERCURY REVIEWS |
| Some folks may criticize Mercury’s cars for being little more than slightly better-looking, more expensive Fords. Those naysayers have forgotten that this is all Mercury ever was. The brand was formed in 1939 as an upscale showroom-mate for Ford, offering longer, lower versions of Ford’s sedans. Throughout the 1950s and ‘60s Mercury was a popular upper-midrange rival for the likes of Buick and Oldsmobile. There have been a few Mercury products that weren’t shared with Ford, but not many. These days the brand has developed a distinct and unique face, and its elegant design appeals to buyers who are looking for a bit more style than the mainstream Ford vehicles offer. |

2008 Mercury Mariner Review

2007 Mercury Mountaineer Review
| Mercury | 9/6/2007 |
That was a sure sign of trouble. It was our first time in the new Mountaineer, but we had driven a Ford Explorer just two weeks previous, and the two trucks share platforms. Since my lovely spouse is not a car person and usually has to have platform-mates pointed out to her, for her to pick this up on her own suggested that there‘s far too much similarity between the Mountaineer and its... |

2007 Mercury Milan Review
| Mercury | 9/6/2007 |
Don‘t get us wrong; the new Milan is a great car and highly recommendable, but we just get the feeling that Mercury isn‘t trying very hard any more. Apart from the styling and interior trim, there aren‘t any significant differences between the Milan and the Ford Fusion sedan that it‘s based on. |
