SUZUKI REVIEWS |
| Versatile Japanese manufacturer Suzuki’s wide range of products exhibit one defining characteristic--casual fun. Suzuki has never managed to do “staid” or “mature,” whether it’s motorcycles, off-road vehicles, or the compact 4x4 trucks that introduced its automotive division to the U.S. in 1985. Even the frugal Swift, which did double duty as the Geo/Chevrolet Metro, had a wild turbocharged version hiding in the wings. The mini-Jeep Samurai off-roader remains popular in spite of a Consumer Reports criticism that caused it to be pulled from the market. |

Suzuki‘s little off-roader has always ridden a solid platform and been a decent (if Spartan) performer, but in recent years the Grand Vitara has been looking somewhat long in the tooth. |

Small cars are big news these days. It‘s not just the rising gas prices that are doing it; designers seem to have discovered that little bantamweight runabouts are downright adorable. Suzuki‘s all-new SX4 is no exception. |

How‘s this for a facelift? Suzuki‘s newest SUV is striking, thanks to an angular face that‘s likely to spread to the rest of the lineup. For 2007, Suzuki gets its first real mid-size SUV. The XL7 was introduced in 2001 as a long-wheelbase version of the compact Grand Vitara. |
